I have been thinking a lot about the use of PLN's in the classroom and with other educators. PLN's are Personal Learning Networks where people build relationships, communicate, share ideas and resources to help one another on a media tool.. I can use a PLN to share lessons that I taught in class with other teachers, I can see other lessons and teaching ideas that other educators have posted. I can communicate with other teachers and receive or give advice for challenges in the classroom. PLN's help teachers to get and give resources to use so that we can engage our students and have meaningful discussions to help our students learn in a more meaningful way.
The below link is a great resource to truely understand what a PLN is, and why it is important,

Now that you know how and why teachers use PLNs with other teachers, I think that it is important for you to understand that students using PLN's with their teachers and peers is also very helpful. With a class PLN we can share our ideas, have discussions, and help one another through communicating on a media tool such as our Blog or through a social network like Twitter, Facebook,etc... You can communicate with me. We can help eachother with our homework. We can post ideas for activities and topics we want to learn about in class. We can post about fun learning games we use at home. There are so many ways we can help eachother by havng a class PLN. Our PLN will let us discuss things without being in the classroom.
Now that you know about PLN's and why they are helpful for teachers and students, I want you to think about how we can use a PLN in our classroom!
