Quadblogging gives students the opportunity to communicate personally and communicate on eachothers posts collaboratively. This gives them the ability to write to an audience of peers and share their thoughts and work. This is something they often cannot do in class, much less with students from other countries. Because students are communicating with peers from other places, this process also gives students a perspective into different cultures and beliefs.
Quadblogging is a very positive activity for students to do. Students communicate with peers from other cultures. Students often learn best from their peers, so the fact that students also get to learn about students from other ethncities and cultures is a very well-rounded learning experience.
I also think Quadblogging is positive because students get to work on writing skills in a in a different way. Blogging with new friends, gives them a new audience, and takes students away from their pencil and paper routine.
Although I think Quadblogging is a great idea, I do think it could have it's challenges. One major challenge would be time. For this activity, students would need the time to thoughtfully write posts and comments to the other 3 classes. This could take too much time away from curriculum centered lessons. Some students do not have access to the internet away from school, so quadblogging could not be required out of class.
Another concern I have with students working with other students from different countries is the possible language barrier. For the posts and comments to meaningful, I feel the students would need to be able to understand eachother.
In my research of Quadblogging, I found several resources to help understand the process, as well as see the benefits of getting started.
